MIRRI-ERIC is pleased to invite you to the fourth episode of the webinar series "MIRRI-ERIC Voices", which will be focused on The Challenge of Microbiome Preservation.

"MIRRI-ERIC Voices" gives the stage to MIRRI-ERIC’s Partners to present their work, achievements, and innovations in the microbial world. Each episode features one MIRRI-ERIC partner’s chosen theme, offering insight into its unique contributions to the Consortium and to the European research landscape and promoting knowledge exchange across the MIRRI-ERIC network and the field of culture collection.

The fourth episode of "MIRRI-ERIC Voices" will be hosted by the Italian Node of MIRRI-ERIC, featuring a one-hour presentation and Q&A delivered by Luca Cocolin, Full Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences of the University of Torino, and involved in the Turin Culture Collections (TUCC) as specialised in MiAGR – Food, agricultural and environmental microbiology.

The Turin University Culture Collection (TUCC) was born from the union of the microorganism collections present in four departments of the University of Turin. To date, TUCC manages approximately 9 thousand strains of bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeasts of environmental, agronomic, industrial and clinical interest. TUCC has a long tradition of interacting with the industrial world and participates in the MIRRI-ERIC infrastructure by collaborating on several international projects.

Luca Cocolin is part of MIRRI-IT, the Italian Node of MIRRI-ERIC, which, besides TUCC, comprises four other partners: CNR - National Research Council; San Martino Hospital (HSM) /ICLC Collection; UNIMORE Microbial Culture Collection; and the Industrial Yeasts Collection of the University of Perugia.
