Amalia D. Karagouni National Node Coordinator (NKUA), Greece

Greece has been a MIRRI-ERIC Member since 2024 and proudly hosts the MIRRI-Greece Node, which coordinates the activities of Greece Partners. The node provides consultative services assisting in the characterization of fungi, prevention and control of human fungal infections, and communicable fungal diseases.
 
It is actively involved in organizing educational events for health professionals and clinical scientists, fostering knowledge transfer and capacity-building in medical mycology and applied microbiology. Furthermore, Partners provide services to the Hellenic Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, local government authorities, agricultural associations, and private farmers. The node supports sustainable biotechnologies, environmental microbiology, and innovative health-related microbial applications.
