Free Access to Services Opportunity: MIRRI-ERIC Partners on the AgroServ’s 5th Open Call

AgroServ has launched a new opportunity for free access to research services. The MIRRI-ERIC is pleased to announce that two of its partners are part of the Catalogue of Service of the 5th Transnational/Virtual Access (TNA/VA) Call, now open. This call offers researchers free access to a wide range of leading European research infrastructures. It represents an important opportunity to advance work in agroecology, sustainable agriculture, and resilient agri-food systems.

Through the AgroServ project Catalogue of Services, MIRRI-ERIC partners BCCM-MUCL (hosted by Université catholique de Louvain and funded by BELSPO) and INRAE-CIRM provide access to a comprehensive portfolio of microbiological techniques and expertise. These services include access to diverse microbial strains such as bacteria, fungi, and yeasts, as well as support in identification, preservation, screening, and other specialised analyses. Such capabilities play a crucial role in enabling cutting-edge research on soil health, plant–microbe interactions, and sustainable agricultural practices.

The 5th AgroServ call introduces greater flexibility for applicants, who may now request access to services from a single research infrastructure if this better aligns with their scientific objectives. At the same time, AgroServ continues to strongly encourage collaborative and transdisciplinary approaches that integrate services across multiple infrastructures, ensuring broader scientific impact. Regardless of the approach, all proposals must clearly demonstrate their contribution to the agroecological transition.

Applicants are encouraged to begin by exploring the AgroServ Catalogue to identify relevant services and design their project accordingly. Proposals must then be submitted before the deadline of June 8, 2026.

This call is open to researchers, scientists, and industry professionals whose work addresses key challenges in agroecology and sustainable food systems. By participating in AgroServ, MIRRI-ERIC continues to strengthen its role in supporting high-quality microbial research and fostering innovation across Europe.
