France is a founding member of MIRRI-ERIC since 2022 and proudly hosts the MIRRI-France Node, which coordinates the activities of France partners. These are represented by two institutions: the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE) and the Institut Pasteur (IP). Within INRAE, the Microbiology and Food Chain Department (MICA) established the International Centre for Microbial Resources (CIRM), which collaborates with five microbiological resource centres. The Institut Pasteur hosts the Biological Resource Centre (CRBIP), a comprehensive biobank infrastructure encompassing a collection of both microbial and human specimens. The MIRRI-France Node plays a crucial role in microbial resource management, applied microbiology and biotechnology, supporting scientific advancements and industrial applications. It collaborates closely with research institutes and private enterprises to ensure access to high-quality microbial materials. |
